Tafila Wind Farm(Jordan)

Daelim Energy and Korea Southern Power developed a 51.75 MW Wind Power Project at Tafila, located 140km southwest of Amman, Jordan.

Project financing was closed in September 2018 with IFC and private banks covered by KSURE. It was the first wind farm in Jordan supported by KSURE

Vestas is a contractor for wind turbines and EPC. The construction started in October 2018. Commercial operation start is scheduled in March 2020.

As a successful greenfield project, it was awarded the Best Wind Farm in Project Finance Awards 2018 hosted by EMEA Finance.

DAELIM Energy, along with EMA Power, invests a total of $33 million and holds 50% shares.

Generated electricity will be sold through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 20 years with Jordan National Electric Power Company (NEPCO).
